It’s the holiday season and shopping propaganda is all around us – BOGO, 25% off, Buy 2 get 1 free! What ends up happening is my credit card takes a toll and I end up crashing into a pile of gifts with a hefty bill that I’m wondering how I am going to pay off in January – yikes!
I have started to watch the Hallmark Channel and Up and Lifetime and…you get the drill.. for my holiday movie fix to try to restrain myself from heading out to the stores and now I keep seeing commercials for this company called ebates. It’s a website that supposedly gives you cash back on your shopping. I.dont.believe.it.
Since I know I won’t be able to fight the urge since I hear cash back if you purchase through the website (I’m also thinking about all the additional cash back I’ll get back by using my credit card), I decide to give it a try.
A day later, I picked up a secret Santa gift, a gift for my godson and a gift for my sister AND in my account showed this:
I’m not trying to convince you, but seriously?? I am going to get a check back in February for $79 just for shopping at a few places through this website. Groupon gave me 18% cash back and Neiman Marcus gave me 10%! Ridiculous! In addition, I used my 2% cash back credit card so I’m getting even more. Cha-Ching!
