The Courtyard Marriott in Lima, Peru recently opened its doors a little less than 1 year ago. Compared to the JW Marriott’s location in Lima, the Courtyard Marriott’s location is in the city center. Right in the center of the beautiful Miraflores area where there is a lot of amazing restaurants, bars and nightlife. If you’d like to try your luck, the “Atlantic City” casino and “Fiesta” casino is right around the block from the Courtyard Marriott.
As a Platinum Marriott Rewards member, I checked in to the hotel and was greeted in the most welcoming way. The staff constantly thanked me for being a Platinum Marriott Rewards member, which I thought was a nice touch.
The hotel is a category 4 Marriott Property – 20,000 points per night. This is a real bargain since the hotel is modernly decorated, service is superb and food offerings at breakfast are perfect. I actually used 2 free night certificates (1 from a Marriott Bonus Offer and 1 from my credit card anniversary) and 20,000 points to stay 3 nights for $0 USD. Can’t get any better than that! Otherwise, it would have been around $200 USD per night for the room.
Since Courtyards do not typically offer complimentary breakfast, I made sure to ask the receptionist if there was anything she could do about the breakfast. She provided me 3 free buffet breakfast certificates. I do not think she would have given this to me if I did not ask. So be sure to ASK! It does not hurt to try 🙂
The room looked like a typical Courtyard Marriott room set up, but the furniture was completely modern and the bathroom was marble. Not your typical Courtyard. Actually, this the nicest Courtyard I have ever stayed in so far. If back in the US, I think this hotel would actually be either a Category 6 or 7 property.
I’d highly recommend staying at the Courtyard Marriott in Lima!
