I would say I am a pretty seasoned traveler, but for some reason I would do what everyone else in the security line would do 2 minutes before passing through the security line- take my last final gulps of water in my Poland Springs bottle and throw out the bottle in the overflowing garbage full of plastics. I’ve even polished off an entire 16 ounces right before the security checkpoint just so I would not have to waste it.

I was recently traveling down to Florida this past January with my cousin and I saw her do the simplest thing – she finished her water bottle on the security line and then just put her water bottle back in her backpack.  Wait! What? How could I not know to do something this simple?! I proceeded to do the same and then when we got through security, we went to the purified water station and filled our bottles up! I’m done paying for overpriced water at the airport. No thank you! What a great tip!
